About the First Coast Plein Air Painters: Based throughout Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, the First Coast Plein Air Painters is an enthusiatic and dedicated group who focus on the “plein air” style of painting, or “open air.” Produced outdoors in natural light, this style was popularized by 19th-century French Impressionist painters Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Camille Pissarro.
